Dental Crowns and Bridges<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <strong>dental crown<\/strong> is placed after root canal treatment or when the remaining tooth structure has become severely weakened due to extensive decay or a fractured tooth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dental bridges<\/strong> are used to replace missing teeth by placing crowns on the adjacent teeth to support the artificial tooth or teeth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are several types of dental crowns, including <strong>metal-free porcelain crowns, porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns, and cast metal crowns<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some patients may experience mild sensitivity to cold foods and drinks for a few weeks following the placement of a crown or bridge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Removable Dental Prosthetics and Dentures<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Removable dental prostheses may be recommended when fixed dental restorations are not suitable due to <strong>medical or financial considerations<\/strong>. They are a medically effective treatment option; however, they require an adjustment period and special care to maintain their cleanliness and protect the health of the surrounding teeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are two main types of removable dentures:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Metal dentures<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Acrylic dentures<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From a medical perspective, metal dentures are generally considered superior in terms of <strong>design, stability, and durability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Caring for Removable Dentures<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It may take several weeks to become fully accustomed to wearing removable dentures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At first, the denture may feel unusually large or bulky. This sensation usually subsides by the end of the first week.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You may experience some difficulty pronouncing certain sounds initially. Reading aloud for extended periods during the first few days can help you adapt more quickly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the denture causes pain or discomfort, your dentist can adjust it. <strong>Do not attempt to adjust the denture yourself.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you have become accustomed to the denture, it should be removed while sleeping and kept immersed in water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clean the denture after every meal using a medium-bristle toothbrush. Mild hand soap may also be used.
